Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in care homes and home care settings, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will be responsible for assisting with daily living activities, implementing care plans, and fostering a positive environment for those in your care. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals are essential.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support individuals in maintaining their independence by encouraging participation in daily activities.
- Implement and follow care plans as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Monitor and report any changes in the health or behaviour of residents to the appropriate staff members.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any observations made during shifts.
- Drive to various locations as required for home care services, ensuring safe transportation of clients.
- Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes effectively.
- Foster a warm and supportive environment through excellent communication skills with both residents and team members.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is advantageous but not essential.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for roles involving transportation of clients.
- Proficiency in English is required to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Strong IT skills to manage documentation and use relevant software applications.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
