About the Role
Our School of Nursing is part of the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Social Care, and is nationally recognised for innovation in nursing education. Our state-of-the-art simulation suites and strong NHS partnerships provide an exceptional environment for learning, teaching and research.

We are seeking a visionary academic leader with the drive and ambition to build on our established success and further develop our school of nursing. This will be achieved by expanding our portfolio and ensuring the delivery of high-quality student-centred, and innovative education and research, that is relatable to the demands of the developing landscape of nursing, responsive to changes in the health and care sectors, and optimises the impact of nursing for our communities, addressing population and health and care sector needs. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of nursing, nurse education and research at one of the UK’s most innovative and entrepreneurial universities.

The Head of School is a member of the Faculty Executive team contributing to the strategic and operational plans, developments and leadership in ARU, for the Faculty and specifically for the nursing provision in the School, across all campuses. You will be part of a dynamic and supportive academic community, contributing to the development of the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Areas of responsibly include ensuring compliance with professional statutory and regulatory bodies such as the NMC, Ofsted and OfS, and meeting our university standards. Fostering a culture of academic excellence, research, and student-centred learning. Managing budgets, staffing, and resources effectively. Building and maintaining strong partnerships with healthcare providers. Championing equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of the School’s work.
