We are looking for an experienced Head of Sales to lead and develop a multi-faceted Sales team and to develop strategies to drive revenue growth and ensure the achievement of sales targets.
As well as responsibility for the in-house telesales and business sales teams, you will oversee the outsourced Field Sales performance and manage the supplier relationship. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be a high- performing member of the Senior Retail Team with a proactive, detail-driven approach to team and performance management.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the sales result, ensuring overall, team and individual targets are met
- Manage performance daily, observing sales behaviour trends that need improved or which can be repeated to drive performance. Understand performance and capability at individual level to enable quick action if needed to underpin overall sales achievement
- Lead, coach and train the Internal and outsourced sales teams to deliver exceptional sales performance
- Ensure your teams are set up to execute on their key sales objectives, including but not limited to the creation of sales opportunities, maintaining walk lists and telesales pipeline and the communication of promotional plans
- Coach and monitor standards within the department to ensure excellent day to day culture, instilling a performance mindset and to improve productivity
- Work closely with other departments such as marketing to ensure that sales strategies are integrated with overall business goals
- Manage customer feedback ensuring that a strong understanding of the customer voice (critically including ‘no’ reasons) feeds into messaging and promotional planning
- Manage the evolution of sales strategy and techniques as each cohort moves along the adoption curve
To succeed in this role
You will need to be a front-line leader that gets involved in the day-to-day activities of your team and manages the outsourced team performance to strict SLA’s. The Head of Sales is a data-driven role that requires commercial acumen and a deep understanding of the consumer base, the competitive market and an ability to analyse sales department performance.
- You will have a proven track record managing sales teams both tele-sales and field sales teams
- Strong track record of hitting revenue targets, and other performance KPIs.
- Experience managing outsourced teams, and ensuring positive ROI
- Experience using performance data to manage output
- Ability to recruit, train, and develop sales people
