Job Title: Head of Emerging Verticals EU & Ireland

What is the purpose of this Role?
The successful candidate will be responsible for execution of the European Enterprise Emerging Verticals strategy, in line with internal senior stakeholders to drive growth of the existing portfolio and of specific MCC’s that are within strategic plans. The role holder will lead the Direct Sales Business Development and Direct customer Relationship Management within the vertical and geography leading them to deliver revenue goals whilst adhering to and promoting the US Bank core values and behaviors.
Support the design, implementation and delivery of the various vertical MCC strategies that provide sustainable growth for the company to support revenue diversification and long-term revenue objectives.
Develop strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, collaborate on wider company strategies, support in making critical recommendations / decisions on prioritisation of technology and resources to deliver on the vertical strategy
Align with shared service support teams to profile key requirements that optimise vertical opportunities.
Act as an internal and external trusted thought leader, providing segment expertise to drive innovation and change, based on industry trends and customer insight.
Lead the team to deliver on revenue targets, whilst adhering to and promoting US Bank core values, behaviors and policies.
Collaborate with the vertical management team to distribute planning and revenue targets effectively throughout each year, and to effectively report on progress of key initiatives and goals driven by the team
Actively support the continuous improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of the revenue generation and retention activities within the team
Support with key customer engagement and act as an escalation point for key decision making and prioritization of revenue attainment
To develop the team through coaching, methodology and training of individual’s skillsets, in keeping with internal talent development guidance

1. Accountabilities for your role - what are you expected to do?
Lead the Emerging Vertical team to deliver on core objectives and financial goals. Leading through a performance focused approach, to measured goals and milestones.
Support the execution of both short-term and long-term vertical strategies that support the company’s growth objectives through vertical diversification and value-added product attachment delivery.
Support or lead and engage across the business and segment, via working groups and other adhoc teams to contribute towards achieving the Emerging enterprise team goal, and wider companies’ long-term success.
Support and align on key vertical initiatives that drive strategic growth, which may require complex matrix-management over long cycles of technical development planning.

A strong understanding of the vertical landscape and payment requirements / trends in all of the Emerging Verticals MCC areas.
Ability to design, develop, implement and deliver a vertical growth strategy.
Ability to lead and motivate teams in a matrix organisation, across multiple diverse geographies and functional reporting lines.
Ability to manage change with large and complex organisational transformations to positive outcomes.
Effectively priortise in line with US Bank core values.
Ability to confidently represent the company and vertical team both internally and externally to drive Exec board level influence and critical decision making.
Demonstrated proven performer in managing sales and partnership teams, to deliver on revenue goals consistently.
Demonstrated proven performance of new business sales with deep understanding of the customer sales cycles, and key needs through the sales process. Or demonstrated proven performer of customer retention, with deep understanding customer retention cycles, and key needs to grow portfolio.
Demonstrated success in collaborating cross-functionally.
Ability to own and strengthen relationships with key internal stakeholders.
Compelling and persuasive communicator (oral and written) with excellent interpersonal skills.
A track record of identifying root causes issues and opportunities and proactively problem solving to drive action to address them.
To act as an ambassador of US Banks core values and leading by example.
The ability to effectively communicate business decisions and processes.
Ability to analyse data and present insights based that drive action.

4. Qualifications Required to perform your Role?
5+ years of experience within the payment industry.
Experience of Leadership and matrix management
Proven experience of sales, or relationship management as an individual contributor.
Proven experience of supporting and executing strategic plans of revenue growth and delivering to them.
A clear understanding of working within a regulated environment and the requirements of this
