Head of Capital Modelling

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to lead our Syndicate capital modelling team. The successful candidate will be an actuary with extensive experience in capital modelling including at Lloyd's. The role reports to the Head of Capital and Investments, alongside the Heads of Investment and Capital Management.

While there is rarely a typical day, here is a snapshot of some of the key parts of the job:
- Ensure appropriate capital setting appraisal and techniques are used that meet relevant tests and standards to ensure appropriate SCR is set and use of the model is appropriate.
- Ensure a robust internal model process and framework including its contribution to an effective ORSA process.
- Responsible for capital requirement input to the annual business planning exercise, including the coordination of the production of the Lloyd’s (SBF) and Group requirements.
- Lead the Internal Model development, setting suitable strategic development plans, navigating issues, stakeholders and delivering in line with plans, ensuring technical excellence.
- Lead the Capital Modelling team ensuring appropriate development and learning opportunities, working to develop and maintain relationships across the MS Amlin actuarial community.
- Deliver and present the required papers to the Model Governance Committee and Risk & Solvency Committee, in line with their terms of reference.
- Lead the internal stakeholder relationships between the Capital Modelling team and the business including with validation, reserving, pricing, underwriting and wider finance teams. Manage the inputs/outputs to/from stakeholders in relation to capital modelling and foster positive relationships.
- Navigate the relationship with Lloyds, understanding communication requirements in order to maintain a good relationship.
- Develop and maintain external relationships and knowledge to keep abreast of industry issues affecting capital modelling.

- Qualified Actuary
- Significant level of experience in leading capital modelling teams.
