Job Summary
O'ffee is an independent specialty coffee shop in Birmingham. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Barista and a Latte Artist to lead our vibrant team. As Head Barista, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the coffee culture at O'ffee, ensuring the highest standards of beverage quality, customer service, and team performance. Your expertise in specialty coffee and leadership will be key to delivering an exceptional experience for both customers and staff.
Duties
- Oversee the preparation and service of a wide range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, ensuring consistency and excellence.
- Lead, train, and mentor barista team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Assist with food preparation and ensure all items meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Maintain and enforce cleanliness, organization, and adherence to food safety regulations throughout the café.
- Deliver outstanding customer service, engaging with customers and sharing your coffee knowledge to enhance their experience.
- Manage workflow and delegate tasks to ensure prompt and efficient service during busy periods.
- Operate and maintain coffee machines and other equipment (training is provided)
- Collaborate with management on menu development, product selection, and continuous improvement of café operations.
- Monitor inventory, place orders, and manage stock levels to support smooth daily operations.
Requirements
- 2-3 year of experience.
- Significant previous experience as a Barista, with proven leadership or supervisory experience .
- In-depth knowledge of coffee, including brewing methods, latte art, bean origins, and equipment maintenance.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to train, motivate, and inspire others.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities to handle multiple priorities efficiently.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
- A friendly, approachable demeanour with a passion for providing outstanding customer service.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
