Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality beverages, maintaining cleanliness in the café, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for our customers.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including espresso-based drinks, teas, and smoothies.
- Maintain food safety standards by adhering to proper hygiene practices during food preparation and service.
- Operate coffee machines and equipment efficiently while ensuring they are cleaned and maintained regularly.
- Provide excellent customer service by taking orders accurately and engaging with customers in a friendly manner.
- Handle cash transactions and manage the till with basic math skills for accurate payment processing.
- Assist with food preparation, including pastries and snacks, ensuring freshness and quality at all times.
- Keep the café area clean and organised, including tables, counters, and equipment, to create an inviting environment for guests.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service without compromising quality.
Qualifications
- Previous barista experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Knowledge of food safety practices is essential to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Strong serving skills with the ability to interact positively with customers from diverse backgrounds.
- Basic math skills are required for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
