Job description
We are seeking a skilled Handyperson to join our team. The ideal candidates will have a strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to work on various maintenance tasks, including plumbing, painting and all types of repairs, gardening maintenence etc.
*Duties*
* To provide maintenance services in accordance with current best practices, according to policy and procedures, agreed standards, legislative requirements and relevant regulations under the direction of the Manager.
* Refurbish, paint, repair, rooms, offices and all other parts of the large care centre.
*To action both planned and reactive maintenance issues and prioritise in terms of urgency.
* Be on call within the team for OOH emergencies.
* Be aware and implement all COSHH & H&S management.
* work with the maintenence manager for all maintenance, testing and service programmes for all equipment and safety systems including fire safety.
* Be prepared to support sister home, also in Plympton with any maintenance requirements.
* Assist in the assessment of the effectiveness of maintenance implementation and delivery.
* Implement actions to meet and maintain maintenance standards
* Systematically solve day-to-day problematical issues when they arise.
* Ensure the service users’ rights are protected
* Be responsible for promoting and protecting the welfare of those individuals supported by the service.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £14.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
