Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining the aesthetic and functional quality of our outdoor spaces. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in landscape maintenance, horticulture, and general maintenance tasks. A passion for gardening and an eye for detail are crucial for ensuring that all grounds are kept to the highest standards.
Duties
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, and planting to enhance the appearance of gardens and green spaces.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as excavators for various maintenance projects.
- Carry out irrigation system installation and repairs to ensure efficient water distribution across landscaped areas.
- Conduct regular inspections of grounds to identify areas needing attention or repair.
- Assist in construction projects related to landscaping, including building pathways, installing fences, or creating garden beds.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of tools and equipment used on-site.
- Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
Experience
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance or gardening is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge is beneficial for operating and maintaining equipment effectively.
- Familiarity with horticulture practices will be an advantage.
- Experience using various hand tools, power tools, and machinery relevant to grounds maintenance.
