Are you passionate about bringing people together, unlocking potential, and making a real difference in local communities? Gloucestershire Rural Community Council (GRCC) is looking for a dynamic, people-focused Volunteer Co-ordinator to join our dedicated team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring volunteers across our projects feel supported, valued, and empowered to make a positive impact. As the ‘go-to’ organisation for volunteering support in Gloucestershire, GRCC is proud to be recognised for our best-practice approach and our strong networks across the Voluntary and Community Sector.
What you'll do
In this varied and rewarding role, you will:
- Help recruit, induct, and support volunteers across all GRCC projects
- Be the first point of contact for volunteers, offering guidance, encouragement, and regular communication.
- Organise training, carry out necessary checks, and ensure volunteers are well-matched to roles
- Keep accurate volunteer records, process expenses and celebrate achievements.
- Work closely with project leads to enhance the volunteer experience from start to finish
About you
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience managing people — whether volunteers or staff
- Brings excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
- Can work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Is approachable, adaptable, and committed to supporting people from all backgrounds
- Holds a full driving licence and is happy to travel across Gloucestershire
Experience in managing volunteering projects, dealing with sensitive situations, or working with diverse communities would be an advantage, but is not essential.
About GRCC

We work with partners across the public, private, and voluntary sectors to deliver projects that strengthen community wellbeing, resilience, and opportunity. If you’re motivated by people, purpose, and the power of volunteering, we’d love to hear from you.
