VWS Westgarth
VWS Westgarth Ltd is part of Veolia Water Technologies group and is reported through this parent. Veolia Water Technologies (VWT) is in turn part of Veolia Environnement SA (VE), a French multinational business.
VWS Westgarth Ltd, whose main office is in East Kilbride, Scotland, is a specialist in water treatment systems for the offshore energy sector. We are the world leader in the Sulphate Removal Process, which is a seawater treatment system for the offshore industry and we are also specialists in treatment systems for oilfield produced waters. Our main offshore markets are currently West Africa and South America, where we also undertake the management responsibility for offices in Luanda and Rio de Janeiro.
Our main offshore markets are currently Guyana, the Gulf of Mexico, Angola and Brazil. VWS Westgarth employs more than 160 staff within its own offices, who work closely with a number of other global Veolia business units on a regular basis.

The Role
As a Graduate Buyer you will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of the procurement function, including strategic sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiation, and procurement operations. This position is designed to provide a solid foundation for your career in procurement.
Main responsibilities
- Assist in the development and execution of sourcing strategies for various categories of goods and services
- Participate in the request for proposal (RFP) process, including the preparation of RFP documents, evaluation of supplier proposals, and supplier selection
- Support contract negotiation and management activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, assess market trends, and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as finance, legal, and operations, to ensure alignment and effective communication
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier performance
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline procurement processes and enhance operational efficiency
- Assist in the development and implementation of supplier performance management programs
- Attend training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance procurement knowledge and skills
Qualifications, skills and experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as supply chain management, economics, business administration or engineering
- Experience in procurement, supply chain management, or related fields
- Proficient in Microsoft Office/Google suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of procurement software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, e-sourcing platforms)
- Familiarity with project management methodologies
