Overview
We're looking for a proactive and organised Practice Administrator to join our friendly team in a role that bridges patient care and administrative duties. You'll play a key part in enhancing the patient experience, with a focus on delivering high-quality services in a supportive environment.
This role requires excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to be flexible and positive, all while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of service contracts (QOF, ECF, LIS, PHS) in collaboration with clinical and management teams
- Carry out data capture exercises and coordinate patient appointments and services to ensure timely, appropriate care as part of action plans
- Maintain accurate patient records and update registration details
- Provide a point of contact for staff on service contract/administrative queries
- Issue repeat prescriptions in line with practice protocols
- Use EMIS and Ardens systems (training provided) for care coordination and admin tasks
- Provide general administrative support to the management team
- Attend relevant meetings and training to keep up to date with contract requirements
- Collaborate with external healthcare professionals to improve service delivery such as care homes, hospice care, and public health initiatives.
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role as delegated by the Managing Partner
Qualifications
Essential
- Clear and confident communication skills (face-to-face and telephone)
- Ability to keep accurate, well-organised records
- Confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Word and Excel (training provided for EMIS/Ardens)
- Ability to follow procedures and maintain confidentiality
- Good judgment, resourcefulness, and common sense
- Proactive attitude with willingness to learn and improve
Desirable
- Previous experience in healthcare administration
- Knowledge of medical terminology or healthcare IT systems

- Reliable means of travel to work
- Availability throughout the year
- Likely to remain at Fernville for at least 3 years
