General Catering Assistant
Salary: NJC 2 £23,656 p/a pro rata (£12.26 p/h)
12.5 hours per week Mon – Fri term time only + 2 weeks (40 weeks per year)

Furness Education Trust is recruiting for a General Catering Assistant. The role will be based predominantly at Furness Academy, however there will be a requirement to be flexible and able to travel to the other schools within our Trust if required.
Furness Academy is:
- A medium sized 11-16 mixed Academy with approximately 1,280 students, located near the centre of the historic shipbuilding town of Barrow in Furness and close to the southern boundary of the Lake District National Park.

You will:
- Prepare food.
- Prepare dining and serving areas to the accepted standard.
- Serve drinks and food at the specified times to the designated portion size.
- Operate tills in accordance with instructions.
- Adhere to the procedures in the kitchen in relation to stock rotation, delivery and control.
- Undertake daily cleaning duties including operating the dishwasher and washing up.
- Record accurately all information with regard to health and food safety on a day to day basis.
- Provide support where required to the students.
- Cover for absent staff within other schools.
