Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic General Assistant to join our dynamic team at The Red Lion. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our establishment, contributing to a positive dining experience for our guests. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of culinary skills and customer service experience, demonstrating a passion for food and hospitality.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation, ensuring all dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
- Provide excellent service to customers, taking orders and serving food and beverages promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen and dining areas, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Support kitchen staff with various tasks, including basic cooking and cleaning tasks
- Engage with customers to promote menu items and upsell specials effectively.
- Manage time efficiently during busy periods to ensure timely service delivery.
- Collaborate with team members to create a harmonious working environment.
Experience
- Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, particularly in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations is essential.
- Basic culinary skills or kitchen experience will be advantageous.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
