General Assistant – Nursing Home

Shifts: Days 9.00am - 17.00pm
About the Role:
We are currently seeking a reliable and compassionate General Assistant to join our dedicated team in a caring Nursing Home environment. This is a varied role that includes working across different departments, including the laundry, kitchen, and other support areas as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Laundry Duties: Sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing residents’ laundry, ensuring infection control standards are followed.
- Kitchen Support: Assisting in meal preparation, plating, dishwashing, and maintaining kitchen hygiene in accordance with food safety standards.
- General Duties: Supporting housekeeping, assisting with resident-related tasks (non-clinical), and responding to the operational needs of the home as directed by senior staff.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in a care home or similar environment is desirable but not essential – training will be provided.
- A flexible, team-oriented approach and willingness to work across different departments.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A compassionate and respectful attitude toward elderly residents.
- Ability to follow health, safety, and hygiene procedures.
