Gardener
Daisy Vale is looking to recruit a Gardener to join the team. This role is full-time, working 40 hours per week.
Daisy Vale House is located in Thorpe, a small village on the outskirts of Wakefield. It offers residential support for 16 males and females with a learning disability, as well as autistic individuals.

What you'll be doing
You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the service and to support the wellbeing of our residents. While your role doesn’t involve providing direct care, your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.

- Maintain a safe and habitable environment throughout the unit’s gardens and grounds, in line with quality standards and ensures that work processes comply with statutory regulations.
- Carry out a varied range of gardening duties requiring minimum supervision and using own initiative. Including weeding, digging, edging, pruning, seed sowing, plant cultivation, bed preparation and planting
- Undertake a variety of general maintenance jobs as required, with particular focus on the exterior of the building and the gardens/grounds.

The role involves the use of a wide range of hand tools, horticultural machinery, and powered hand tools, with responsibility for ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained, serviced, and kept in safe working order. Gardening experience is desirable but not essential.
