JOB DESCRIPTION : Practitioner
Post: Childcare Practitioner
Reports to: Room Leader/Manager
- To assist the Room leaders and Nursery Manager by working flexibly as part of a team to provide a safe, clean and stimulating environment for all young children 0 - 5 years within the nursery, taking into account their general health, safety, wellbeing, and educational needs.
- Establish good working professional relationships with children, parents and staff.
- Ensure a high quality and safe play/care environment is maintained at all times ensuring any broken/lost equipment is reported immediately to management.
- To take an active part in the updating & reviewing of policies & procedures when required and ensure that these are implemented and followed at all times.
- To prepare reports on key children, attend parents meetings and liaise with Parents with regard to any general comments/concerns they may have with regard to the service.
- To work with colleagues to ensure self-evaluation/ legislation / paperwork of the establishment is carried out through means of the current documents set by South Lanarkshire Council/Care Inspectorate/Education Scotland.
- To attend any relevant meetings or training events as deemed appropriate with regard to the nature of the business and staff self development.
- To attend individual staff appraisals, annually, with the Nursery Manager, where work performance, attitude, and staff development will be discussed. Attend follow up meetings to monitor progress.
- To gain relevant qualifications to meet with SSSC registration requirements.
- To hold a PVG membership and SSSC registration and notify these parties as well as management of any changes to personal circumstances.
- To undertake any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Management of Sweetie Brae Nursery.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From £12.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
