Summary
We are seeking talented and passionate individuals responsible for providing excellent customer service in the restaurant. The primary task is to ensure guests have an enjoyable dining experience, from taking orders and delivering food to making sure that everything is prepared to their satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Greeting: Welcome guests upon arrival, escort them to their table, present menus, answer questions about menu items, and make recommendations when needed.
- Orders: Accurately take food and drink orders from customers, ensuring special dietary requests or preferences are noted and communicated to the kitchen.
- Serve: Deliver food and drinks to tables promptly and accurately, ensuring the presentation of food and drinks meets the restaurant's standards.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to customers, ensuring that their needs are met and resolving any issues or complaints professionally. Check in on tables to ensure guests are satisfied and offer additional assistance as needed.
- Clear Tables: Remove empty plates, glasses, and utensils in a timely manner and prepare tables for the next guests.
- Selling Techniques: Use upselling and suggestive selling methods for additional menu items, special promotions and desserts to enhance the dining experience and increase sales.
- Payments: Process customer payments, including cash and credit cards, providing accurate bills and giving change when necessary.
- Cleanliness: Keep the dining area clean and organised throughout the shift ensuring silverware, napkins, and glasses are ready for the next customer.
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with kitchen and bar staff to ensure the timely delivery of orders. Assist in clearing kitchen or bar inventory when needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in customer service and/or the food and beverage industry is preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, good memory and attention to detail, basic math skills, multitasking and time management.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for long periods, and able to carry and balance trays of food or beverages.
- Personality: Sociable, friendly demeanour, positive energy, and able to maintain composure in fast-paced, busy environment.
- Certifications: Food safety certification (preferred but not mandatory).
- Other: Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
