We are seeking a dynamic Despatch Operations Supervisor to support the Despatch and Warehouse Manager to oversee and coordinate our despatch operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and efficiency.

Job Summary:
The Despatch Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the despatch department to ensure orders are prepared accurately, packed securely, and dispatched to our customers in a timely manner and to the exceptional standards of Fen Farm.
This role involves supervising a team of despatch staff, working closely with our production and wrapping teams, to ensure compliance with food safety and operational standards whilst meeting our delivery deadlines and maintaining the highest standards of customer service.
The successful candidate will play a key role in streamlining despatch processes, maintaining inventory accuracy, and delivering exceptional service to customers through effective logistics planning and execution.
The role requires someone who has the flexibility to work different shifts as required over the 7 days to fulfill our customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day despatch operations, including planning, scheduling, and packing outbound deliveries.
- Lead, motivate, and support the despatch team to achieve performance targets.
- Monitor and maintain accurate records of deliveries, including completion of delivery logs and updating the tracking system.
- Liaise with team members and internal departments (Production, Wrapping and Sales) to ensure smooth communication and problem resolution.
- Implement and improve operational procedures to optimize workflow and minimize delays.
- Coordinate and prepare orders for distribution, ensuring products are correctly packed and ready for dispatch.
- Verify the accuracy of orders and delivery schedules to ensure timely and efficient dispatch.
- Ensure the safe and accurate picking of products to various customers, including end users and wholesalers.
- Assist in ancillary tasks such as Truffle production and cheese wedging.
- Processing orders through courier websites to ensure accurate delivery of products.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, ensuring the safe handling of fresh products during packing and dispatch.
- Ensure that packaging and labeling are correct before dispatching products to customers.
- Report any damaged goods or discrepancies in orders to the relevant department.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in a logistics, warehouse, or distribution environment (supervisory experience preferred).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a distribution or food environment is beneficial.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, late shifts, and weekends as required.
