Job Title: Forest School Practitioner (FSA Level 3 Qualified)
Location: Based at our Day Nursery in Grange Farm, Milton Keynes with future provision in Winslow, Buckinghamshire
Hours: Monday to Friday | Term-time only | 8:00am – 4:30pm
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time

About Us
We are a well-established day nursery in Grange Farm, Milton Keynes, now expanding our early years provision to include a brand-new Forest School in Winslow. While our Forest School site is currently in development, we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Level 3 Forest School Practitioner to join our team.
In the initial phase, you will be based at our nursery in Grange Farm, supporting children through nature-based activities and helping us prepare for the full launch of our Forest School. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the journey from the ground up, helping to shape and establish the Forest School from its foundations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver inspiring Forest School sessions in line with Forest School principles
- Support outdoor learning experiences at the nursery while the Forest School site is under development
- Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging outdoor learning environment
- Conduct risk assessments and maintain high standards of health & safety
- Observe and document children’s progress and tailor sessions to their individual needs
- Collaborate with the wider nursery team and management during the transition to the Forest School
- Help develop the Winslow site in line with Forest School ethos and best practice
- Promote environmental awareness, curiosity, and confidence through nature
Requirements
- FSA-recognised Level 3 Forest School Practitioner qualification (essential)
- Full UK driving license and access to a car (essential, due to travel between sites)
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
- Experience working with children in outdoor environments
- A thorough understanding of safeguarding and child development
- Excellent communication, leadership, and teamworking skills
- Positive, nurturing, and passionate about nature-based education
Desirable
- Experience in setting up or contributing to a new Forest School provision
- SEN training or experience supporting children with additional needs
- Understanding of EYFS and how Forest School complements early learning
