We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Tour Guide to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Manchester and will love showing it off to our food tour guests. You'll need to be able to talk confidently in front of a group of people and be knowledgable about Manchester and life here.
We are looking for story tellers, people who can keep a group entertained and involved over a 3 hour tour.
As a Tour Guide, you will lead groups on engaging, informative, and most importantly fun tours, ensuring an enjoyable experience while providing outstanding customer service throughout.
Reliability and professionalism is an absolute must here. Many people think being a guide is a simple 3 hours of just talking and walking. It is a lot more than that.
We will provide all the training necessary but we need to have our standards kept high. Please do not apply if you are not willing to put in the work to complete our training.
Responsibilities
- Your main responsibility is to lead our food tours of Manchester.
- Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, answering questions and providing assistance as needed.
- Prepare tour stops pre-tour including food ordering and reservations.
- Manage group dynamics effectively, ensuring all participants feel included and engaged throughout the tour.
- Continuously work in partnership with our vendors around the city ensuring good relations and making sure that our tours are a benefit to their business.
- Keeping the standards of Manchester Bites at a high level at all times with a professional, friendly attitude.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and engagingly. We are looking for story tellers. People who can grab the attention of a group and keep everyone entertained for 3 hours.
- Strong interpersonal skills to connect with diverse groups of people.
- A good sense of timing and organisation to manage tour schedules effectively.
- Knowledge of local history, culture, and our local food scene is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- On the spot problem solving.

- Availability to host tours during weekends 10-4 is a must.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £13.00-£25.00 per hour
