1. To consistently provide and maintain the highest standard of guest care and service.

2. To maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming at all times.

3. To ensure that your designated uniform is worn, well pressed and in a good state of repair at all times.

4. To familiarise yourself with your departmental Standards of Performance and to be able to demonstrate their application.

5. To have a good knowledge of all hotel facilities and be able to answer guest questions in a quick, polite and helpful manner.

6. To handle any guest complaints or problems promptly and to ensure that all resolved/unresolved incidents are reported to your Head of Department.

7. To adhere at all times to all company, hotel and statutory rules, regulations and policies.

8. To act on you’re responsibilities detailed in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

9. To demonstrate a working knowledge of fire prevention and to follow the hotel evacuation plan on hearing the alarm.

10. To be security conscious with respect to guest/staff/hotel property/welfare and to report suspicious circumstances to your Supervisor.

11. To report any damage to furniture, fittings and equipment to your Supervisor.

12. To maintain your departmental area in a safe, hygienic and presentable state, at all times.

13. To co-operate and communicate with your colleagues, Supervisors, Head of Department and Management to ensure effective department team work and high morale.

14. To attend any meetings, training sessions or courses that may be beneficial to you and your department on request from your Supervisor/Head of Department.

15. To follow all procedures set up for energy conservation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. To have a full knowledge of the menu, wine list and any special promotion, being able to answer guest queries quickly, be knowledgeable, and in a discreet manner in line with the Titanic Hotels standards.

2. To collect store requisitions ensuring that they are checked and stored correctly, whilst adhering to the hotel requisition system, and times.

3. To collect linen from the linen room, to ensure that it is folded correctly and placed in the correct storage space.

4. To prepare all mise-en-place for the Restaurant, as requested by your supervisor/Head of Department.

5. To set up and clear tables prior to, during and after service ensuring at all times that the highest standards are maintained.

6. Welcome and seat guests, escorting them to their tables and presenting menus.

7. To take food and beverage orders in a professional manner taking every opportunity to maximise sales in a discreet manner, relaying orders to the kitchen and answering guest questions about the menu.

8. To carry out the service of starters, main courses, sweets, beverages and coffee, ensuring all times service is in line with the standards of the Titanic Hotel.

9. Checking on guests throughout their visit, monitoring guest satisfaction, addressing any issues and providing excellent customer service.

10. Maintaining cleanliness through clearing tables, resetting them for new guests and assisting with other cleaning duties when needed.

11. To prepare and check guest bills and to receive payment from the guest.

12. Having strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner.

13. Ability to work under pressure through handling a busy restaurant environment and multiple tasks efficiently.

14. To take reservations, welcome and seat guests in the absence of the host/ess.

15. To have a full knowledge of the Weights and Measures Act and licensing laws and to strictly adhere to the provisions set.

16. To ensure the safe use, maintenance and storage of equipment and utensils.

17. To ensure the safe use and storage of chemicals.

18. To carry out any other reasonable tasks requested by your Supervisor, Head of Department of Management.
