This is the job

As our Financial Modeller, you’ll help shape the AA’s future through dynamic financial modelling and business partnering. You’ll lead the development of a robust, agile Group 5-Year Plan model, enabling fast, data-driven decisions across the business. This is your chance to influence key planning cycles, support a fast-growing business unit, and deliver insights that drive real change.

You’ll collaborate with senior stakeholders, contribute to high-level presentations, and support critical initiatives like credit rating reviews, refinancing, and potential acquisitions. If you're looking for a role that blends analytical depth with strategic influence—and offers exposure across the wider Finance team—this is an exciting opportunity to make your mark.

What will I be doing?

  • Drive the evolution of our Group 5-Year Plan model—making it smarter, faster, and more insightful to support bold, strategic decisions across the business.
  • Collaborate with Business Units to shape forecasts and assumptions that challenge the status quo and unlock new opportunities.
  • Partner with stakeholders in AAX, one of our most exciting growth areas, to deliver high-impact modelling and analysis that fuels rapid expansion.
  • Turn complex financial data into clear, compelling presentations that influence senior decision-makers and shape the future of the AA.
  • Get involved in high-profile projects—from credit rating reviews to M&A analysis—building your exposure and making your mark across the wider Finance team.

What do I need?

Capability, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Advanced Excel skills, with bonus points for experience in VBA or Power Query
  • Financial Modelling experience within a Group FP&A team at a large, complex organisation
  • Confident communicator with experience building strong relationships in fast-paced environments
  • Skilled in preparing clear, compelling presentations for senior stakeholders
  • A strong mix of financial expertise and commercial awareness
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into business insight

Education and Qualifications:

  • Professional qualification in Finance ( ACCA, ACA, CIMA or similar), with post-qualification experience.

Additional information

We’re always looking to recognise and reward our employees for the work they do. As a valued member of The AA team, you’ll have access to a range of benefits including:

  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays + holiday buying scheme
  • Worksave pension scheme with up to 7% employer contribution
  • Free AA breakdown membership from Day 1 plus 50% discount for family and friends
  • Discounts on AA products including car and home insurance
  • Employee discount scheme that gives you access to a car salary sacrifice scheme plus great discounts on healthcare, shopping, holidays and more
  • Company funded life assurance
  • Diverse learning and development opportunities to support you to progress in your career
  • Dedicated Employee Assistance Programme and a 24/7 remote GP service for you and your family

Plus, so much more!

We’re an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from everyone. The AA values diversity and the difference this brings to our culture and our customers. We actively seek people from diverse backgrounds to join us and become part of an inclusive company where you can be yourself, be empowered to be your best and feel like you truly belong. We have five communities to bring together people with shared characteristics and backgrounds and drive positive change.
