Care Worker - Children
Are you looking for additional shifts or a flexible role that fits around your existing schedule? We have an excellent opportunity for dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to provide care for a young child on alternate Saturdays.
The shift is flexible and last 6 hours, making this role perfect for those seeking extra work or a chance to make a meaningful impact in their spare time.

**Key Responsibilities **
- Provide attentive supervision to ensure child's safety and well-being
- Assist with mobility, including transfers to/from electric wheelchair
- Support child's daily activities and routines
Medical Care
- Monitor and report any changes in child's condition, including:
- Muscle tone and strength
- Respiratory function
- Skin colour changes (circulation)
- Gastrointestinal symptoms
- Assist with medication administration as directed
- Support feeding regimen (child is nil by mouth, has trans gastric/JEJ tube)
- Perform bowel washouts as needed for constipation management
- Assist with bathing and personal hygiene
Therapeutic Support
- Engage child in age-appropriate activities to support development
- Implement exercises or stretches as recommended by physical/occupational therapists
- Assist with use of sensory room equipment
Communication and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of child's daily activities, medications, and health status
- Communicate effectively with parents and healthcare team
- Recognize and respond appropriately to medical emergencies

- Willingness to learn and adapt to the specific needs of those you will be supporting.
