D1 Fully Operational Salary: £12.56 per hour (equivalent to basic £24,483.62 pa)
C2 Development Salary: £13.15 per hour (equivalent to basic £25,648.55 pa)
C1 Fully Operational Salary: £13.74 per hour (equivalent to basic £26,793.39 pa)
*Opportunity to progress to a fully operational grade B1 Team Leader role dependent upon training & development requirements being met.
About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated, organised and detail-oriented individual to join our growing team. You will perform a range of Operational activities on a three-week shift rotation (05:45-13:34, 21:45-05:45, 13:45-21:45) covering 24 hours per day, 5 days per week (core hours 37.5 hours per week). You will have comprehensive knowledge of Extruded or Crystal Soap manufacturing/packing technologies and fault-finding abilities to support continuous production performance carried out in a safe, controlled, and efficient manner. The key deliverable of the role is to ensure delivery of the Weekly Production Plan across the Factory.

- Responsible for the safe and efficient running of production/packing activities in your area and when required coordinating the activities of the team in your area.
- To manage the efficient operation of your area aligned with priorities agreed with Shift Managers, Plant Controllers, and Area Leader, also working with Engineers to deal with any issues as appropriate.
- Have a full understanding of Process Safety Systems and Auto Batch/HMI requirements in your area as appropriate.
- To report any issues with equipment in your area to Shift Managers and Engineers to ensure action can be taken at the earliest opportunity to repair.
- To achieve delivery of the weekly production plan flagging all urgent issues to the Shift Managers, Plant Controllers, and Area Leader.
- To ensure all required PPE requirements for your area are being adhered to by you and your team and to report any unsafe acts or conditions in EHS and ensure Shift Manager/ HSE & Sustainability Leader are aware of the issue.
- Ensure full compliance with all Quality specification requirements outlined in the product Batch Sheets and report/record any non-conformances.
- Full completion of all Batch Sheets as required.
- Responsible for reporting all Safety issues to the Shift Managers and HSE & Sustainability Leader so timely Corrective or Preventative Action can be taken.
- Ensure all products meet quality specification requirements outlined in the relevant Batch Sheets.
- Demonstrate urgency and move quickly to implement decisions once they have been made.
- Ensure work area is organised and ready for the oncoming shift and carry out handovers ‘on the job.’
- To carry out area readiness checks to ensure all parts of the operation are prepared for shift and machine start up.
- To ensure all necessary paperwork is completed in full according to the role SOP.

- Support energy and waste reduction activities.
- Support the Quality Team in delivering technical and product quality improvements.
- Contribute to developing training material for production areas as appropriate.

- Support for RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and improvement activities: support technical countermeasures to prevent recurrence of Quality Events - this should also extend to maintenance activities.
- Continually achieve a gold standard of GMP - Be actively responsible and involved by giving support to GMP improvement activities and ensuring all Weekly Clean Down, start up and Maintenance activities are done, and relevant documentation logged and signed off by the relevant parties!
- Be an SOP champion by keeping your own and your team’s training in line with the skills matrix – Ensure you and your team attend all planned training sessions to keep personal training records up to date!
- Keep yourself and your team up to date with any revised or newly created OPL’s/SOP’s/MHE training programmes, working with your Area Leader to co-ordinate training to close any gaps. Log training completion with the Safety & Training Coordinator.
- Support the creation, modification of Toolbox Talks (TBT’s) and SOP’s to pass on your knowledge to colleagues and log training completion with the Safety & Training Coordinator.
- Complete training programs on new equipment installations and deliver training to rest of team.
- Be actively involved in the completion of GMP audits and use results to focus improvements on Workplace Organisation.
- Understand Shift and Weekly Production requirements and organise team to deliver.

Skills & Competencies
- You will have a minimum of 1 years manufacturing experience.
- A Counterbalance Fork Lift Licence is desirable.
- You will have the ability to identify and actively be involved in continuous improvement opportunities!

- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a car as public transport doesn't run locally for early shift start times.
