About the role:
As an Apprentice with this team, you will take on a varied array of duties, ensuring that our offices, facilities and equipment are operating safely. From handling front-of-house services and setting up meeting rooms through to dealing with potential health and safety issues, you will learn from a team who are passionate about their work. While some maintenance activities will be planned, the team also work reactively, responding quickly to issues as they emerge.
As such, every day will present you with a fascinating range of challenges, and you will have the scope to work closely with colleagues from all departments. Taking on a number of learning units that will cumulatively contribute to securing your qualification, you may also be required to complete Functional Skills in Maths and English.

Key responsibilities:
Front of house duties
- Greeting and inducting visitors and staff to site
- Receiving deliveries and liaising with a variety of FM contractors
Delivering FM services
- Working as part of a team to deliver agreed service standards for the OfS across the site
- Responding appropriately to site queries, requests, or complaints
- Undertaking regular procedures and checks
- Carrying out reactive tasks as required
- Maintain consumable stocks across site (stationery, coffee, etc.)
- Distribution and collection of mail
- Setting up meeting spaces by arranging tables and chairs
- Occasional printing requests
- Assisting with furniture moves
Health, safety, and the environment
- Fire marshal duties (training will be provided)
- Electrical inspection and testing (training will be provided)
- Maintain compliance with H&S policies across the site, following agreed procedures and record-keeping
- Identification and reporting of potential H&S risks/issues
Stakeholder engagement
- Effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders, always acting professionally
Team working
- Working effectively with other team members to achieve departmental tasks.
Apprenticeship work:
- Monthly reviews with a tutor that will support your learning
- Workshops that allow you to engage with other learners outside of the OfS
- Support from more experienced FM team members
- Wider skills; health and safety, employment rights, e-safety, equality and diversity, and safeguarding.

About you:
To make the most of this unique opportunity you will need to be open to developing exceptional customer service and communication skills, with the ability to engage with others through email, telephone, and face-to-face. As a problem solver who can identify when something needs to be done and react accordingly, you will be able to take directions and provide constructive feedback. Crucially you will also be a team player who is friendly, personable and keen to respond to work requests. With good organisational and IT skills, you will be able to prioritise your own tasks, and you will have a basic level of numeracy and literacy.

Please note that this role is fixed at 37 hours with a work pattern of Monday-Thursday 0900-1730 and Friday 0900-1700. The role does not have any remote working and is 100% office based.
