We are a busy family-run department store in the heart of Farnham.
We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, drive and enthusiasm to join our busy Facilities team on a part time basis.
The incumbent will be willing to:
work a three day week (25.5 hrs pw) on a two week rota, hours are 08:00 to 17:30
work occasional weekends
work full time hours (42.5 hrs pw) to cover annual/planned leave
work Saturday or Sunday during the busy Christmas period, November to 31 December annually.
You will be responsible for the planned and unplanned maintenance and repair of equipment and premises along with cleaning and general duties to ensure the premises are safe and accessible.
Maintenance and repair of equipment and premises including:
· Repair of minor structural damage – scuffs etc to painted surfaces
· Preparation and painting of display modules, internal window display areas as directed
· Assist with relocation of shop-fittings/department fixtures as directed.
Cleaning duties as per the Cleaning Log/Maintenance Weekly Schedule including:
· Flatten and bundle cardboard for disposal as required.
· Keep bin areas free of loose rubbish and yard area clear
· Ensure rubbish bins are utilised to full potential and ready for collection at relevant times
· Maintain the tunnel and ‘goods in/out’ area, ensure both areas are tidy and free of hazards
· Check roof and gulleys are clear of debris, leaves etc - Monthly
· Undertake other cleaning duties as and when required.
General Duties:
· Daily ‘Fire Walk’
· Daily ‘Door Counts’
· Check all lights in building are working
· Test Fire Alarms in line with procedures
· Test Emergency Lighting
· Asset management of non-fixed assets: heater/fans etc.
· Assist with ‘Lock Up’ procedure
· Weekly Health & Safety checks
· Carry out any other maintenance duties as directed.
To be successful in the role you must be reliable, honest and a team player; as well as have excellent communication skills, be computer literate and have previous experience working in a facilities/maintenance environment.
Please note that there are physical aspects to the role.
