The Role
As a Fabricator Welder, you will be responsible for the fabrication and welding of bespoke metal products from technical drawings, working with mild steel, stainless steel, and occasionally aluminium. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabrication of components from engineering drawings
- MIG and TIG welding to a high standard
- Operation of fabrication machinery (press brakes, guillotines, drills, etc.)
- Measuring, marking out, and cutting materials accurately
- Conducting quality checks to ensure finished work meets required specifications
- Assisting in the assembly and installation of fabricated components (as needed)
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Liaising with the workshop manager and team to meet production deadlines
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Fabricator Welder (minimum 5 years preferred)
- Strong welding skills in MIG (TIG an advantage)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately
- Competence in using workshop tools and machinery
- A proactive and reliable approach to work
- High standards of workmanship and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and a team-player attitude
- A full UK driving licence is desirable
