Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Roofer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various roofing techniques and materials, with a strong understanding of safety protocols and building regulations. This role involves working on both residential and commercial properties, ensuring roofs are installed, repaired, and maintained to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain roofs using a variety of materials including shingles, tiles, and metal.
- Read and interpret schematics to determine project specifications and requirements.
- Fabricate roofing components as needed to ensure proper fit and function.
- Perform heavy lifting and manoeuvre materials safely on-site.
- Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople to ensure seamless project execution.
- Conduct regular inspections of roofs to identify potential issues or necessary repairs.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations while working at heights.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order, including power tools used for roofing tasks.
Skills
- Proficient in using power tools relevant to roofing tasks.
- Ability to weld when required for specific roofing applications.
- Strong understanding of masonry techniques as they relate to roofing installations.
- Experience with plumb techniques for ensuring proper drainage on roofs.
- Capable of heavy lifting and working in physically demanding conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to fabricate solutions on-site as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
