Job Description: Experienced Kennel Assistant
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Kennel Assistant with 3+ years of hands-on experience in a kennel or animal care environment, or a doggy day care environment. An understanding of canine body language is essential, and canine care daily needs. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about caring for dogs, sees it as a professional career, and is committed to excellence in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Feed, medicate, and provide basic grooming services for dogs as needed.
- Communicate professionally with clients, providing regular updates on their pets’ well-being.
- Ensure the care, safety, and comfort of all animals in the kennel and boarding facility.
- Maintain accurate records of each animal’s health, behaviour, and medication needs.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate supply orders when required.
- Efficiently manage pet check-ins and pick-ups while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Implement and adhere to health and safety protocols for both staff and animals.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Engage with dogs through training, play, and interaction to promote their physical and mental health.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organisation, and upkeep of the facility at all times.
Qualifications and Attributes:
- Proven professionalism and dedication to delivering the highest standard of care for animals and their owners.
- Additional experience in dog training, dog walking, or grooming is highly desirable.
- Relevant qualifications in animal care or management will be considered an asset.
