Volunteer role description
Flexible. Ad hoc – choose events to take part in (events can be at a variety of times)
Events are usually in Stamford or surrounding area
Purpose of the Voluntary role:
Evergreen Care Trust holds a number of events each year. These events raise awareness of the services we offer to older and vulnerable people in the community and raise vital funds for the charity. Events are mixed and varied and could be anything from a stall at a local festival, a tea party, an annual ball. helping with our Christmas Cracker raffle, a table the local library, working with other community groups. We aim for our events to be professional and fun.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up for events e.g working as team setting up a gazebo
On occasions helping to serve refreshments
Promote the events locally
Tidy away at the end of the event
Help to plan events
Follow Health & Safety Guidance
Complete any administration re the event
Engaging effectively and professionally with the general public
Key relationships:
Working with other volunteers in the Events team
Meeting the general public
Working with Community Groups, Venues
Working with Members of Evergreen Staff
Working alongside other Volunteer Groups within the Trust
Skills, Qualifications and experience required:
If you have experience planning, setting up and running events that is great but not essential.
It is essential you have good communication skills, are friendly, professional and comfortable engaging with the general public.
Enthusiasm and being a ‘people person’ are essential.
IT literacy is a plus for planning events but not essential.
