Employment Support Officer
22.5 hours per week
£17,321 actual per annum (£28,867 FTE)
Based at Hanson Lane Enterprise Centre
Fixed term contract until 31st March 2026 (secondment considered)
We’re looking for a compassionate, motivated and person-centred Employment Support Officer to join our team and support local people who are currently unemployed to take positive steps towards work.
You’ll work with individuals facing a range of barriers — such as health conditions, low confidence, caring responsibilities or limited English — offering personalised one-to-one support to help them build confidence, develop new skills and prepare for employment. This includes help with CV writing, job applications, interview techniques and approaching employers, as well as linking them into training, volunteering and community-based opportunities.
You will need:
- Experience of managing your own caseload in an advice and guidance setting
- Experience of community engagement and partnership working
- Grade C or above in GCSE English (or equivalent)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with Calderdale’s diverse communities
- Confidence to work independently in a target-driven environment
