The purpose of this role is to provide high quality support to managers and staff in managing employee relations across the organisation. The post holder will enable managers to build an inclusive, effective and safe culture, engage their staff, and effectively manage absence, performance, disciplinary, grievance and bullying & harassment cases.
To provide initial/informal support to a small number of medical and dental staff. Working closely with Chief Medical Officer and Responsible Officer.Providing administrative support to the HR Team which might include formal note taking, sending out hearing packs and general administration.
Proposed interview date 16th July 2025
1. Provide high quality HR advice to managers that aligns with our values, our approach to ‘Just Culture’ and builds an inclusive and diverse workforce.
2. Use workforce information and trend data to advise managers on actions to improve absence management in their areas.
3. Use relevant HR Systems such as SARD and ESR to pull relevant data and produce reports for use by the HR Team and managers. This will include producing compliance reports, sharing these and identifying and escalating concerns as appropriate.
4. Advise and support managers on appropriate action to take on disciplinary, grievance, bullying & harassment, capability and absence issues, supporting managers to resolve issues informally at an early stage wherever possible.
5. Advise managers and staff on the interpretation and application of terms and conditions of service and contractual issues including Maternity Leave, Flexible Working etc.
6. Maintain correct and up-to-date professional registration records escalating as appropriate, including working with relevant professional body.
7. Remaining abreast of any local and national legislative changes for medical and dental staff terms and conditions.
8. Supporting with medical staffing job planning and management of appraisal dates and information, supporting with decision making for any extensions.

9. Advise and support managers undertaking investigations for grievance, disciplinary, bullying and harassment and performance management cases.
10. Support managers in dealing with absence management, liaising with Occupational Health and payroll to ensure appropriate advice is provided.
11. Ensure that advice complies with legislation, ACAS guidance, policy and procedures and enables effective people management.
12. Assess options and advise and support managers in the preparation of documentation for disciplinary, grievance, performance management, capability and attendance meetings.
13. Attend informal and formal meetings / hearings as necessary, and advise on management reports and correspondence in accordance with our procedures.
14. Ensure that appropriate information is captured and maintained in the ER tracker to enable accurate monitoring and reporting.
15. Help build effective relationships with local trade union / staff side representatives.
