Join the Embedded Payments Technology team at JPMorgan as the Chief of Staff to the technology team responsible for delivering embedded payments solutions to the biggest and most successful e-commerce and marketplaces customers.

As chief of staff you’ll be responsible for the people and organizational effectiveness of the department, leading the people development agenda, driving OKR success, leading process improvements and stakeholder engagement. This role requires a blend of operational expertise, strategic thinking, and exceptional communication skills to support high-impact initiatives in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. This role will be reporting into the Head of Engineering for Embedded Payments.

You will drive the successful planning and execution of the team’s roadmap, communications plan, and associated logistics to help the organization achieve its business goals across the firm. Your deep knowledge of technical principles, practices, and theories is essential in facilitating the organization’s ability to deliver innovative solutions while effectively managing resources and budgets. Your ability to analyze, reason, and adapt will enable you to navigate through ambiguity and changes, ensuring that technology initiatives align with business goals. With advanced communication and stakeholder management abilities, you will foster productive working relationships and influence decision-making to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. As a subject matter expert, you will contribute to the development of operational plans and risk management strategies, ensuring the highest quality and professionalism in service delivery.

Job responsibilities

  • Support the execution of embedded Payments Technology strategic priorities by collaborating closely with business leads across our key stakeholders (Product, Implementations, Testing, Site Reliability Engineers, partner groups in Payments Technology, Finance and Business Management))
  • Develop executive presentations and messaging for internal audiences (e.g. Quarterly & Monthly Reviews, Governance meetings, business updates, Teams Channel, Monthly Newsletter); facilitate transparent and effective communication across the organization
  • Shape external-facing narratives with strong analytic support and product knowledge
  • Manage and coordinate regular engagements on Embedded Payments' priorities between the key stakeholders
  • Operational Excellence, Oversee daily operations, streamline workflows, and manage key business processes.
  • Drive business reporting ensuring operational excellence; identify insights and make meaningful recommendations as needed
  • Lead execution of employee communication and engagement initiatives (e.g. regular All Hands meetings, Weekly Directs meetings, Leadership offsites, Community engagement, etc.); encourage support Diversity, Opportunity and inclusion initiatives
  • Tackle complex business problems with limited definition and uncover root causes, develop solutions, and translate into specific recommendations for action
  • Lead and manage cross-functional projects, ensuring timely execution of key objectives
  • Serve as delegate and represent the Embedded Payments CBT as needed for governance related matters
  • Serve as a manager for some of the software engineer teams in location

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

The successful candidate will possess the following experience:

  • Proven experience in executive/leadership communications and business reporting, translating strategies to execution plans
  • Excellent writing skills, ability to “storyboard” and develop visually compelling presentations with clear logic and structure
  • Highly organized and detailed oriented; proficient in managing competing priorities and multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Intellectually curious with entrepreneurial attitude and a results-driven mindset
  • Ability to influence with authority - anticipate and proactively address issues that may arise
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to build relationships and interact effectively with individuals at all levels
  • Experience managing staff using direct and in-direct reporting lines
  • Experience working in a software engineering delivery role using agile methodologies
  • Experience in financial services and digital payments with an understanding of competitive offerings and industry trends is a plus

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Experience with Embedded Finance, cross border payments, SME and Corporates client segments is a strong plus
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Chief of Staff, or similar leadership role, ideally in a technology or AI-driven organization.
  • Proven track record of managing complex projects and driving cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience leveraging data and AI tools for decision-making.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and adapt to changing priorities
