Job Summary
We are a small family run nursery looking to expand our current team. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early years Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and a commitment to providing high-quality care and learning experiences for young children. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a vital role in fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that promotes the development of children aged 0-5 years.
We are open 51 weeks of the year 7:30am - 5:30pm. Position is all year round however we may be able to offer this position term time only for the right candidate if desired. Salary shown is pro rata.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging activities that support the developmental needs of children in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to childcare.
- Manage daily routines and transitions smoothly, ensuring that children feel secure and valued.
- Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records to inform planning and development.
- Provide leadership and support to junior staff members, fostering a positive team environment.
- Ensure the nursery environment is safe, clean, and organised at all times.
- Drive initiatives that promote inclusivity and diversity within the nursery setting.
- Maintain effective communication with parents regarding their child's development and well-being.
Qualifications
- MUST HAVE a Relevant level 3 qualifications in Nursery or Early Childhood Education. This is essential.
- Experience working with children in a childcare setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage groups of children effectively while promoting positive behaviour.
- Leadership skills to guide and mentor less experienced staff members.
- A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their growth and development.
