The E-commerce Assistant will oversee the online operations for starrymart.co.uk and its associated platforms. Core duties involve managing product listings, providing support for digital marketing initiatives, and handling customer service. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organisational and communication abilities, have hands-on experience in e-commerce, and be able to work effectively with multiple teams in a dynamic setting. Fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese is a necessary requirement.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Website and Marketplace Management: You will be in charge of adding new items, maintaining the accuracy and visual quality of all product pages, and implementing basic search engine optimisation (SEO).
- Digital Marketing Support: This includes assisting with email campaigns, social media marketing, creating simple promotional graphics, and contributing to SEO efforts.
- Customer Support: You will be a point of contact for customer questions, working to resolve their issues efficiently.
- Team Administration: This involves providing general administrative help to the e-commerce department, potentially including reporting and data analysis tasks.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: You will work closely with teams like IT, purchasing, logistics, and marketing to ensure a seamless online operation.
Essential Skills and Experiences:
- A degree in Business, Marketing, or a similar discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience managing online retail platforms with a history of helping to increase online sales.
- Solid knowledge of effective e-commerce strategies and the typical online shopper's experience.
- Exceptional communication skills (both written and spoken) for professional interaction with different partners and teams.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities, capable of prioritising work and juggling multiple projects in a dynamic workplace.
- The ability to adapt, stay resilient, and work effectively when faced with high-pressure situations.
- A detail-oriented and proactive mindset for identifying and solving problems.
- An enthusiasm for technology and an eagerness to master new software and online tools.
- A passion for e-commerce and consumer goods, with an interest in managing a diverse portfolio of brands.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Knowledge of SEO fundamentals for optimising content and increasing organic site traffic.
- An educational background in Digital Marketing or Computer Science.
- Familiarity with popular Asian food and consumer brands and the related market.
- Skill in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator for editing images.
