Responsibilities
- Safely operate vehicles to transport goods to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage and fuel consumption.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
- Perform minor mechanical repairs and maintenance on vehicles as needed.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
- Assist in loading and unloading cargo, ensuring proper handling of materials.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving is essential.
- Mechanical knowledge is highly desirable, enabling the candidate to perform basic vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Experience operating diggers or similar machinery is an advantage but not mandatory.
- A valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle type is required.
