Further information
The Client Transport depot at Fforestfach operates approximately 60 vehicles. A typical day at the services would be transporting service users, who may be Elderly, have a Physical or a Learning Disability, to one of many locations within the boundaries of Swansea Council. These locations would comprise Day Centres, Evening Centres, various clubs and training centres.
We convey children to and from school and support the community with transport.
In addition to this we also convey out-patients to and from hospital appointments in partnership with ABMU.
Our fleet consists of a range of vehicles that include cars and accessible minibuses of various sizes. As a Driver you will be required to hold a full driving licence with a D1 category (101 restriction) or a PCV licence, dependent upon the vehicles you would drive.
The post requirements will include responsibility for our service users' safety and comfort during their journey, for ensuring wheelchairs used are secured properly plus assisting on and off our vehicles.
When not involved in driving, other duties will include assisting the running of activities and supporting with care at day centres and clubs.
Transport is an essential part of the community without it some of our passengers would not leave their homes, meet up with friends and be able to enjoy life.
If you are looking for job satisfaction, enjoy working in a pleasant, busy environment, and are looking for work that is challenging and rewarding, then work within Client Transport is for you.
These posts are part of a pilot scheme 'Integrated Transport Solutions' (ITS) and will be temporary for 12 months pending a review.
