Driver/Labourer Job Overview
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and hardworking Driver / Labourer to join our team. This is a varied role that combines driving duties with hands-on support across our sites. You’ll play a key part in keeping operations running smoothly, ensuring materials are delivered on time, and assisting teams on-site with day-to-day tasks.
The role involves daily driving into Central London from our Hitchin depot and other locations, delivering materials, collecting waste, and supporting projects across London and the Home Counties.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely load, transport, and unload materials, equipment, and waste.
- Carry out general labouring tasks on-site, including cleaning and basic maintenance.
- Provide support to skilled trades where needed.
- Ensure timely deliveries of tools and materials to sites.
- Follow health & safety procedures at all times.
- Use hand tools and basic machinery under supervision.
- Carry out manual handling and heavy lifting tasks.
- Attend team meetings and training sessions as required.
What We’re Looking For
- A valid UK driver’s licence with a clean record.
- Previous commercial driving experience.
- Physically fit and able to handle heavy lifting/manual work.
- Preferably with construction site experience
- A strong team player with good communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £14.80-£15.50 per hour
