Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dog Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of canine behaviour and training techniques, with the ability to communicate effectively with both dogs and their owners. This role involves working closely with clients to develop training plans that meet the specific needs of their pets, ensuring a positive and rewarding experience for both dogs and their owners.
Duties
- Conduct individual and group training sessions for dogs of various breeds and temperaments.
- Assess each dog's behaviour and develop tailored training programmes.
- Educate pet owners on effective training techniques and responsible pet ownership.
- Maintain a safe and positive training environment for both dogs and clients.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to clients throughout the training process.
- Document progress and adjust training methods as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
- Collaborate with other team members to enhance the overall training experience.
Qualifications
- Minimum Level 3 Animal Welfare
- Minimum Level 3 Dog Training Certificate
- Clean driving licence
Skills
- Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients and address their concerns.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling larger breeds or equipment used in training sessions.
- Experience in animal care, ensuring the well-being of dogs during training activities.
- Knowledge of veterinary practices is advantageous, allowing for better understanding of canine health issues that may affect behaviour or training progress.
