Salary: £30,000-£35,000 Pro Rata
Part Time: 4 or 5 Days Per Week (Alternate Saturdays are required as a minimum)
Working Hours: 9.15am to 5.45pm (1hr lunch break)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring Dispensing Optician experienced to join our multi award winning independent practice in Radlett, Hertfordshire. The position would suit an individual with superb clinical and communicative skills looking to further their career by expanding their knowledge within a progressive practice. We are keen to help with training and are not a sales orientated practice!
Radlett Opticians has prided itself on being leaders in introducing innovative technology. Our current dispensers have a varied day with contact lens teaches, dry AMD treatments, using advanced measuring equipment and general spectacle dispensing.
Opportunity:
A unique environment where dispensing opticians get involved with all aspects of patient care.
You will generally work with two Optometrists daily who don’t just do handovers but will actively dispense patients themselves as well.
We have a variety of suppliers, we mainly dispense Hoya, Essilor, Tokai and Zeiss lenses but we are happy to dispense any lens if it is right for the patient.
An opportunity to dispense Lindberg, Silhouette, Moscot, Morel, Face A Face, Swarovski frames and Luxottica’s range of designer brands. We also stock Maui Jim and Oakley sunglasses.
Equipment:
- Hoya dispensing measuring mirror
- Ipads for dispensing measurements
- IDRA Ocular Surface Analyser (for dry eyes analysis)
- E-Eye device (dry eye treatment using IPL)
- Optos Optomap Silverstone (which includes being able to take peripheral OCTs)
- OptoVue angiography OCT
- Valeda treatment (dry AMD)
Myopia Management (Orthokeratology, Hoya Miyosmart & Coopervision MiSight) is a growing part of our practice with patients travelling huge distances to be treated.
Patient care is our main focus!

Commutability
The practice is located off junction 7 on the M1 and is a short 4-minute walk from Radlett Thameslink train station, which is ~25 minutes from St Pancras Station.
