We are a local family run farm shop offering some of the highest quality produce and products around and require an individual who can provide a high-quality service to accompany this.
Our drivers are the face of our company and so a polite, friendly and helpful attitude is paramount.
The successful applicant will be an honest, self motivated, hard working individual, who will be delivering horse feed and bedding throughout Kent (primarily hand unload). This is a very physical role, so all applicants must be able to perform large amount of manual handling.
Position: Van Driver (Multi Drop)
Hours Per Week: 50 (Monday to Friday) + Occasional Saturdays, depending on work load
Rate of Pay: Starting at £12.21 Per Hour
To Start: Immediately
Essential Attribute / Skill:
- Have a 3.5 tonne entitlement on your licence.
- 25+ - due to insurance restrictions.
- No more than 6 licence points.
- Reliability - You must be able and willing to be punctual for every shift with a low absence rate at previous jobs.
- Flexible with working hours and days
- Be physically fit and able to manual handle up to 25 Kg. This is a very manual role, you will be expected to manually load and unload multiple van loads per day (each van carries up to 1500 Kilos per load) *Forklifts on site can be used to load subject to the correct licence being held*
- Reliable and able to be flexible with working hours.
- Good reading and writing skills - to be able to efficiently pick orders for delivery, and to fill out delivery route forms.
Beneficial Attribute / Skill:
- Knowledge of Kent roads, including country lanes.
- Knowledge of horse feed and bedding.
- Be able to work as part of a team and under own initiative.
- Current and accredited Counterbalance Forklift licence (not essential as training can be arranged).
Duties include:
- Delivering horse feed and bedding to customers livery yards and homes.
- Following delivery notes and loading your own vehicle.
- Assisting the Transport Team with configuring loads.
- Keeping your vehicle safe, clean, and presentable.
- Keeping the storage areas clean, tidy and safe for the next user.
- Following company procedures with returned / short items.
