Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods to our customers. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to handle heavy lifting as needed.
Please note: a personal vehicle is required for completing deliveries.
As a Delivery Driver, you will play a vital role in maintaining customer satisfaction through efficient service.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including vans and other commercial vehicles.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring that items are secured properly for transport.
- Navigate routes efficiently to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic laws.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures and any discrepancies in orders.
- Conduct routine checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, reporting any maintenance issues as necessary.
- Assist with warehouse duties when not on delivery routes, including inventory management and organisation of stock.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety practices is advantageous.
- Experience in warehouse operations can be beneficial for understanding logistics processes.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manage physical demands of the job effectively.
- A valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle type is required; additional qualifications such as CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) may be advantageous.
- Ownership of a personal car suitable for parcel delivery is essential for this role.
