The Parlour Restaurant at Cardiff Garden Centre is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Deli Cook / Deli Assistant to join our friendly kitchen team. We are proud to serve high-quality fresh food in a relaxed setting and are seeking someone with a passion for preparing delicious deli-style dishes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble a variety of fresh sandwiches, paninis, salads, and other deli items to a high standard
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the deli counter and food prep areas
- Ensure all food is prepared in line with food safety and hygiene regulations
- Assist in receiving, checking, and storing kitchen deliveries
- Monitor stock levels and notify the Head Chef or Supervisor of low stock
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with front-of-house staff and customers
- Support the wider kitchen team as required, including during busy periods or special events
- Ensure a high level of presentation for all food served
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures in the kitchen environment
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a deli, café, or kitchen environment is preferred
- Basic food hygiene certification is an advantage (training can be provided)
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills and a team player mentality
- Passion for quality food and attention to detail
