Deli Assistant
Location: SPAR TEMPLE 82 Carryduff Road the Tempkle
Reports To: Deli Supervisor / Store Manager
Role Overview
We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and customer-focused Deli Assistant to join our busy team. Our deli serves a wide range of freshly prepared food including breakfast baps, fry-ups, wraps, salads, sandwiches, and hot lunch options. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working with food, and always go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve hot and cold deli food to customers, including breakfast and lunch items.
- Provide excellent customer service, ensuring every customer has a positive experience.
- Maintain high standards of food presentation and portion control.
- Follow strict food hygiene, health & safety, and allergen control procedures.
- Assist with stock rotation, food prep, and restocking throughout the day.
- Keep the deli counter and service area clean, tidy, and well-presented at all times.
- Handle customer queries and requests with a positive and helpful attitude.
- Work as part of a team to meet the demands of a very busy deli environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a deli, café, or food service environment is an advantage, but not essential – full training provided.
- A passion for great food and customer service.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work mornings, lunchtimes, weekends, and holidays as required.

Pay: From £30,000.00 per month
