The Dehacker Sorter / Well Operator is responsible for inspecting the de-hacked bricks and removing those not of the correct grade or replacing them as required.
Your duties would include but not limited to the following:
- Enter the well and ensure that the bricks being processed are as per the production schedule, removing any with defects.
- Move bricks across lanes as required to either keep the lanes balanced
- Carry out process required in order to complete a colour change
- Replenish paper rolls as required or as instructed by the I.C. De-hacking
- Clean machine at end of shift in order to meet housekeeping standards.
- Ensure they are aware of all emergency procedures
- Report all health and safety concerns to shift supervisor, BST safety leader or management, depending on severity.
- At all times be aware of pedestrians and other traffic.
- Ensure correct PPE is worn at all times
Despite no formal academic qualifications or education being required, the individual requires a minimum of 3 months training period, in which they will be assessed and supervised by a competent operator and examined against a competency check sheet.
