Key Purpose:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Decontamination Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and effective decontamination of equipment, facilities, and workspaces in line with strict health and safety protocols. This is a key role in ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and hygiene standards of the workplace, particularly in environments where contamination control is vital (e.g., healthcare, laboratories, manufacturing).
Main responsibilities will include:
- Perform decontamination of workspaces in clinical environments according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Follow established hygiene and safety protocols.
- Ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and cleaning agents during decontamination procedures.
- Complete clients cleaning records in correct format
- Report any hazardous conditions or incidents to management in a timely manner.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure cleanliness standards are met, maintained and job completed.
- Follow any other tasks related to decontamination as directed by the supervisor.
- 7am or 5pm shift the candidate needs to be flexible as possible as changes to the schedule can happened at short notice in some emergencies.
- The role requires you to wear PPE.

Qualifications & Knowledge
- Good standard of general education.
- Good standard of communication skills – reading, written and verbal
Experience
- Knowledge of decontamination methods and safety procedures is an advantage, but not necessary as full training will be provided.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals is a plus not necessary as full training will be provided.

The role holder will need to provide two satisfactory references and the relevant Right to Work in the UK- A full DBS check will be completed.
