As a Data Protection Specialist, you’ll play a key role in making sure we meet our regulatory responsibilities and respond with care, speed and professionalism when it matters most.
Working as part of a fast paced team, you’ll support the day to day delivery of our data protection obligations, from handling complex complaints and managing subject access requests to advising on data misuse, resolving issues with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), and supporting the Data Protection strategy across a broad range of matters.
You’ll be responsible for:
Handling and investigating data misuse complaints, ensuring timely and appropriate outcomes.
Managing Subject Access Requests received from colleagues and customers.
Supporting responses to ICO cases and contributing to positive resolution outcomes
Making confident decisions in line with data protection law, internal policy and commercial context.
Providing clear advice to internal teams and presenting complex issues in a straightforward way.
Working closely with the DPO to embed and promote data protection best practices across the organisation.

About You
We’re looking for someone with solid experience in a data protection role, ideally within a large complex or retail business. You will have a strong understanding of UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 requirements.
You will also have:
Experience handling complaints and subject access requests, with focus on resolution
Confidence in decision making and an ability to manage sensitive and sometimes challenging conversations
Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to explain data protection issues clearly at all levels
A calm, organised and proactive approach in a fast moving environment
