Credit Control Team Lead

About the Role:

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Credit Control Team Lead to join our Global Finance Services team in Manchester, UK. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our Order to Cash (OTC) processes run smoothly, delivering excellent customer service, leading a high-performing team, and driving continuous process improvements.

As the Team Lead, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the OTC function, ensuring all processes—from credit control to collections—are executed efficiently and in compliance with our standards. This position requires you to take ownership of key financial processes, develop and mentor team members, and collaborate closely with local finance teams to achieve operational goals. You will also serve as a liaison between the Shared Services Centre (SSC) and business units, ensuring seamless knowledge transfer and process transitions. Additionally, you will lead weekly divisional cash calls, proactively address operational challenges, and drive value-added activities that contribute to the overall financial health of the organization.

If you're passionate about operational excellence, building strong relationships, and developing talent, we'd love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a small team of OTC professionals, managing performance, onboarding, coaching, and enabling a culture of high performance and healthy collaboration.
  • Represent OTC on weekly divisional cash calls and oversee day-to-day credit control and collection notes management
  • Act as a key contributor to continuous improvement initiatives, driving financial, process, and talent development goals.
  • Serve as the main point of coordination for internal/external audits and year-end audit procedures.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and meet/exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

What You'll Bring:

  • Proven end-to-end Order to Cash credit control process experience.
  • A strong customer service focus with a commitment to building professional, responsive, and effective relationships.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to foster collaborative working relationships.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify process improvement opportunities and lead their execution.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to handle change and ambiguity effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills and responsiveness to shifting priorities.
  • Leadership experience managing small teams, with a focus on performance development and mentorship.
