About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Corporate Tax Director to join a highly regarded professional services firm. The successful candidate will lead and manage corporate tax advisory and compliance services, while playing a critical role in advising clients, managing complex tax matters, and supporting the ongoing development of a high-performing tax team.
This role is ideal for a strategic, commercially-minded tax professional with a strong background in UK corporate tax, a track record of leading advisory projects, and a passion for team leadership and business development.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse portfolio of corporate tax clients, ensuring timely, accurate, and high-quality compliance and advisory services
- Lead complex tax projects such as group restructuring, international tax planning, and M&A transactions
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, identifying opportunities for added value and long-term growth
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the tax team, encouraging continuous learning and professional development
- Stay updated on tax legislation changes and proactively communicate relevant updates to clients and internal stakeholders
- Contribute to the strategic direction and growth of the tax department, including business development initiatives
- Represent the firm at client meetings, networking events, and industry forums to build visibility and thought leadership
Experience and Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience in corporate tax with a strong background in both advisory and compliance
- Previous experience in a professional services firm or within a large in-house tax department
- ACA, ACCA, CTA qualified (or equivalent)
- Strong technical knowledge of UK corporate tax legislation and ability to handle complex advisory matters
- Proven experience managing client relationships and leading high-level engagements
- Business development acumen with the ability to identify and convert new opportunities
- Effective leadership skills, with experience in developing and managing high-performing teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating technical topics into client-friendly language
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
